Bedbugs mouse infestation Rated 1 star by Medicaid. And prior civil penalties for Medicaid fraud. Its all about making money not human lives
Pot holes in the driveway. People always have COVID. People almost die here because they forget to give medicine.
We visited 2 residents while we were here. We were greeted at the door and given assistance in finding relatives. There seemed to be enough staff, cleanliness was adequate.
I toured Elderwood Assisted Living at Waverly. They have regular and shared apartments. The things I liked the most about it were the socialization and the active environment. The staff who assisted me was very insightful, sociable, and knowledgeable. The facility feels homey like you're just at home, and the residents were very nice. I did not like the price and how small the shared apartments were. I would like a more diversified price range, along with a little bit bigger rooms for people that share an apartment.
My mother-in-law was not happy at all with Elderwood at Waverly. They put her in quarantine and told her she would be out in X amount of days. Then they put her back in and never told her why. When she would call for them, they would tell her she wasn't their only patient. She was there for almost 3 weeks. They had speech therapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy. They were very understaffed. The air conditioning in both of the rooms she was in was broken for days. They need more staff, and they should have better communication skills with people.
I looked at some other facilities and I liked Elderwood because everyone was nice and happy to show me around. It is also a smaller facility which fit what I was looking for. The room sizes here are very nice and spacious. The activities are outstanding, they have so much to offer. For the shortage of help, they are doing a fantastic job. I would recommend them to others and already have.
My older sister has been at Elderwood for two years. The facility is outstanding. The staff is amazing. We feel we are so lucky and that my sister is so lucky. The building is very well-maintained. Every interaction with staff has been helpful. My sister enjoys bingo, crafts, and more. The building is across the street from a school, so the area is very lively.
I had visited Elderwood Assisted Living at Waverly about a year ago. It looked very welcoming and homey, and the rooms were nice sized. There were three different spots in their room where they had the service emergency call buttons if they had some kind of a problem. There's one by the toilet, one by the shower, and one by the bed, and I liked that. They have the dining room, the meals, and the activities. I liked it a lot, but with my mother's level of dementia, I don't really know if she could be in assisted living. The staff was very friendly and helpful to me when we did the tour, but I did not get to meet any of the aides or caretakers. They answered all the questions that my sister and I had. It's very clean, and it would be really easy to navigate through, even if the residents needed a walker.
