Our mother moved into this facility a couple weeks ago at 98 years old. She was welcomed and taken care of immediately. Our mom as well as our family finds everyone from the administration, staff, nursing assistants as well as the residents to be very friendly and helpful. The place is clean, safe, the food is good, they have a variety of entertainment and activities. Highly recommend!
My mother resided here for over two years. I found that the staff was very responsive to her needs. Employees treated all the residents with kindness. The director, Holly, is outstanding. I am grateful for all their hard work.
I toured Elderwood Assisted Living at Tonawanda. I didn't like the fact that you had to share rooms. We wanted a single room. The upkeep was decent, but the rooms were small. The staff was very informative and gave me all the information I needed.
I toured Elderwood Assisted Living at Tonawanda. It was a nice, clean facility. The upkeep was very well maintained. They have an excellent garden, and outside, you've got a little garden in there and an excellent-looking garden. They have a community outdoor facility. The people seem to be nice. The employees were courteous and kind. Holly, who gave me the tour, was informative and very courteous.
I went to look at Elderwood Assisted Living at Tonawanda. It's an older building. It's been around a long time and with different owners. It has long hallways. It needs some updating, but it would suffice. The staff was very helpful. Their staffing ratio was very low. It was 100 residents and five staff, which is not adequate in my mind.
Well, ask a question of one staff member and another person will give you an entirely different answer. Communication between staff and inmates is highly inconsistent. Still, there’s worse. Residents access to the internet is often poor to nonexistent. Indifferent people and rapid turnover of staff is a major concern. The racial tension is very real and aggravating. Policies are unevenly enforced and lots of things happen out of the blue and the staff can’t cope due to inadequate training and poor to nonexistent staff morale. This means that a simple request will generally be ignored.
Horrible facility, racially profiling and harassment. This facility mistreats their patients and neglects them. Current case filed with the Attorney Generals Office of NYS and the County. Clients call and file police reports on the neglect and mistreatment in the facility. Please BE AWARE before making your next visit or checking in any family or friends to the facility. I want to give 0 STARS but it won't let me, so, do not use this facility as it fails to merit any stars of recommendation.
The care of the residents needs to be reviewed. [price removed] a day for the care that is given is quite a lot. There are residents that are on Medicaid which my mom is not.
