Our mother joined the Andrus on the Hudson community in January of 2023 and lived there the last 16 months of her life. The community was supportive of her needs, including a special diet ( with daily ice cream or pudding) and our specific requests. She was not hospitalized even once while she was a resident . We liked that an order of nuns trusted the Andrus to take care of their sisters. We are Jewish and appreciated that the Andrus welcomed Chabad rabbis for special holiday programing. It was also a delight to be greeted by Robert, Sheri, Alexandra and the rest of the staff .
my wife is there for rehab the staff is polite caring at the front desk Nicky and Robert meet you Mr. John one of the officers took the time to talk with me as well as Ms. Norma from admissions my family is grateful for the time spent in rehab
I have an elderly Uncle who resides here. Great staff, great location.
My mom came to Andrus directly from the County Hospital after a fall where she broke her clavicle and suffered a brain injury. First and foremost, ALL the staff at Andrus are wonderful!! Starting with Norma in Admissions who is extraordinary and juggled everything to get my mom admitted, dealing also with insurance issues for me, and coordinated all the paper work, to mom’s Social Worker, Meaghan who was a huge source of information, comfort and guidance for me. Mom was designated a Concierge Patient representative, Alexandria, who was so incredibly warm and kind and gentle with my mom. She assisted mom when she first arrived as well as helped me get acclimated. She also helped my mom pack and transfer to the Assisted Living Community when she discharged from Andrus. The PT and OT staff and doctors are fantastic!! Not only are they extremely skilled clinically, they are unbelievably patient and kind!! My mom’s walking and coordination and strength improved so much while she was there The food service staff were very kind too. The only criticism I have is the RN staffing level - which is an epidemic everywhere I feel. It would be great if there were a few more available RNs to dispense meds and some additional aids for when patients need to be assisted to the bathroom. That’s an issue practically everywhere in healthcare today so I understand that Andrus has the same struggle.
My 97 year old mom was a resident at this extraordinary facility for 18 months. She passed away peacefully there last month. From day one the Administration (Jon and Melissa) were invested in keeping my mom safe and cared for while respecting her dignity and independence. They were always just a phone call or email away. The 4th floor nurses, the Nurse Manager and Supervisors became like family. They answered any concerns that I had and always had time to speak with me. My mom developed connections with many of them. The Recreation Department went above and beyond trying to get my mom involved in activities even if she preferred to be in her room. The day before she passed, Ashley polished her nails which I knew my mom loved. Brenda the in-house hair stylist kept my mom looking beautiful. I will be forever grateful. The Rehab Department worked with her and eased her physical decline. Ramona, the Dietary liaison, visited her daily and my mom looked forward to it. Dr. Dey also looked in on her daily and monitored her medically, he is a very compassionate physician. Last but not least Rob is an amazing concierge-always placed customer service a priority. I am an RN in healthcare administration at a local hospital and have had employment experience at other local skilled nursing facilities. I know a quality organization when I see it. Placing your loved one is difficult enough and Andrus on Hudson made that decision for my siblings and I easier than we ever dreamed could happen.
Excellent facility. They took very good care of my grandmother at the end of her life. New management came in around 2021 (not sure the exact time) and really turned the place around, Staff has always been great though.
The staff was amazing.. PT was able to help my dad walk out of there!
My Dad has been to this facility a few times. Everyone has always been kind to my Dad. They see him in the hallway . They greet him by name. I would always visit after work and although in my opinion they are very short staffed - the employees are always working hard caring for the needs of the patients. One employee stands out in my mind. Her name is Jackson. She always would greet you with a friendly smile, she always spoke softly to my Dad and even when she wasn’t the aide taking care of him . She would always see no matter how busy she was if he needed anything. Maybe when hiring your staff you have them train with Jackson to teach staff compassion and patience . This is an extremely hard job - hopefully everyone is as appreciative as we are. We also had a great experience with Penny who is always kind and is very caring to the patient as well. More staff is clearly needed in my opinion -
