Took Mom to Church. Picked her up and when to her favorite Church and a fun Lunch. Happy to return and get some rest. She is well looked after and cared for. It put myself and Brother and Sister at ease.
Fue gratificante poder ayudar a personas de la tercera edad, gracias a la hha Sandra moreno por por tener esa vocación de servicio hacia los demás, la señoras de limpieza fueron muy amables.
The attendants are not at all kind; watching their actions and facial expressions while attending to the elderly was not very pleasant.
Amber is not the worst and definitely not the best. My family member has been there a little over 4 years in the memory care unit, Alcove. The food there does suck. It is carb central as that is the cheaper than proteins. Overall the staff is OK. I've never seen anyone act badly. Do not have anything delivered there without supervision. It will walk out the door. The staff does not keep the family in the loop on the residents health status. I suggest you really look at the Medicare and Medicaid statements to see who they are receiving medical services from. Then you need to contact them directly. It is like pulling teeth to get any meaningful medical updates. They just don't and wont do it. There is some basic hygiene that they do not do. They just don't have the staff. Depending on how far gone your relative is they might need more attention than some other residents. I actually send an aid there and we say she is niece of the patient. The aid then makes sure the teeth are brushed and other hygiene is kept up with otherwise some things get neglected. The staff does entertain the residents as best as they can. There isn't much you can do with demented people. No field trips. The place can use some deep cleaning. I know I have listed a lot of negatives but overall it is OK. If you want top notch and can afford it you would go to a place like Gurwin Assisted Living in Commack or one of the Bristols. For what it is, Amber is OK. As I said, not the best and not the worst. There are far worse institutions out there than Amber.
It's a decent place but the food is absolutely awful. At first we thought it was just my dad being picky but then we saw how all the residents band together to order food out. My dad said they all complain all the time but the place doesn't care. He eats from a vending machine instead of their food! Please do better for them! Revamp your menu. Talk to the residents about what they like/want.
Today I toured Amber Court of Westbury with Christine. I explained to Christine that my Mom was in rehab and I was looking at many assistant living facilities. The Amber Court has plenty of parking and beautiful. The place is also clean and bright. Christine took me around and explained Amber Court in detail. Thanks Christine for taking the time to give me a tour. The Amber Court has plenty of choices as far as eating choices, entertainment, and rooms. I can say im learning everyday. This facility it on my top five. Thanks again to Christine......
Awesome presentation and customer service. From beginning to end. 🙏🏿👍🏿😀
Amber Court treats my Mom likes she’s their own. I never have to worry. She just loves it there !
