Nurse are over work. To many director no enough cna or nurses food horrible the state doesn't do nothing at all. When they come there. Everything is fine. False image
I came here after a scary experience at the hospital, I was so happy at Affinity everyone was so nice and helpful. I would like to personally thank the Nurse Gabby and Social Worker Shantel. The ladies at the front desk as well. I recommend this place to anyone who needs care after Hospital.
I would recommend affinity to anybody. I have told my doctors and nurses this as well The food was good. The nurses were excellent. The AIDS were excellent. I got a lot out of PT as well
Very bad experience with Raymond in nursing, and even worse experience all around. My brother was admitted for about 3 weeks, I also had the displeasure of having to work with Ms. Shantel in Social Work. Her conduct was consistently unprofessional and did not reflect the level of leadership or competence expected in such a role. Communication was often unclear and dismissive, and concerns were not handled with the care or respect they deserved.
My grandma has been staying here for I believe 2 months. She kept telling us that one of the male nurses was extremely rude to her. But we didn’t know how true it was since she has major dementia. But we saw him actively talk to not just my grandma inappropriately but my family as well. This is completely unacceptable. I understand it can be hard having a help patients with dementia but they cannot help how they are. But YOU as a nurse should know that. And if you don’t you need to find another profession.
I was a patient at Affinity from February 4th to March 27th. Upon my arrival and the way I was treated by night nurse Carol I thought I was placed in a physch ward by mistake by my son. I was told I had to wear a diaper no meds and same nurse who I referred to as "Nurse Rachett"( one flew over the coo cooks nest) was yelling at me thus putting me into a severe anxiety or panic attack. I explained i used a wheelchair as foot was all broken up and other knee damaged, to go to the bathroom. No insisting on diapers, no meds etc totally wiping out any dignity I have as a human being. Yes I may need them later in life not now! The aide did nothing for me Thank God this other wonderful aide Colleen Zito came in. She closed the curtain held my hand and talked to me calmly. She helped me use bedpan. I called my son twice that night as Colleen left and no one answered my bell to pee. The nutritionist came in introduced herself told me food isn't that good most people order in..she was not lying and she was in charge of the food. Food was always cold, took 4 days before they gave me tea instead of coffee which I do not drink and it is never hot! I lived on the cold cereal containers, juice and milk.. Morning. Noon and night until my family started bringing me food and they felt so bad they brought for my roomies too! The 11pm to 7pm aides can be found sleeping in the linen closet where they make a bed of linens and towels from there they cannot hear patients ri ginger bells. Trust me I found an aide in there! The plus side was there were also wonderful nurses, aides, recreation and physical therapy that was phenomenal! I would like to acknowledge Gabby, Dora Marie, Colleen Zito, Alex then the two Michelle's from physical therapy and Chantel from the office also Jenna nurse. They all went out of their over and beyond, not eating, helping patients treating them with dignity and making them comfortable. I want to say thank you to Alex especially for coming in before her shift so I could have a warm shower. Colleen for just your smile and checking on everyone to insure their comfort, Dora for your sarcastic wit that had me laughing and Gabby for your genuine compassion and to my doctor there who always ended our conversation with "Is there anything else I can do to make you comfortable". So in ending 1- fire the night shift(11 to 7am) 2- Do something about the food and cold showers 3- Award the nurses and aides and other personnel who actually do their jobs and enjoy it. 3- help out the recreational employees who do their jobs with so little. Oh and thx to maintaining for getting my T.V. fixed on Superbowl Sunday!!
A family member has had extensive rehab for over two months at this facility. I have always found the facility very clean. Hatice Ozcan, a cleaner, always has a great attitude and works very hard. Jose, a maintenance worker, was equally busy constantly. The rehabilitation personnel, headed by the dynamic due of Michelle and Michelle, are the headliners of this facility. If you want to get better and even if you don’t, they will help make you realize that you can be as good as possible. They genuinely care about each and every patient and take the time to work individually with everyone of them. A friendly staff from when you walk in helps as well. The only complaint they had is the food. Unfortunately it was way below an acceptable level.
No continuity of care, high turn over rate, toxic vibes. Some staff members are nice, but others are terrible. Negative experiences with Nick in pt, Shantel in social work, and Miranda. My mother was on the vent unit, and these staff members were so rude and passive aggressive.
